ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
By the age of twenty-three, Joe Baldizzone had lost the ability to walk out of his front door. Anxiety, panic, and depression had brought Joe to the point of complete hopelessness. Feeling like his only options were to take his own life or be hospitalized, Joe found himself on a road to recovery he never expected. For over three decades now, that journey has transformed Joe into a school teacher, world traveler, professional musician, health coach, substance abuse counselor, author, husband, and so much more. Joe is certain that his recovery is in part due to the fact that he was inspired to holistically heal his mental illness rather than simply treat it with traditional medicine. Joe is currently an IIN (Institute for Integrative Nutrition) certified health coach in NYC, he’s completed the substance abuse counseling certification program at Long Island University, obtained a BA from CUNY with minors in psychology and education, and has worked with recovering addicts and alcoholics for over thirty years. Joe’s debut self-help book, 50 Things to Do Before Seeing a Psychiatrist, offers those struggling with mental illness and addiction simple suggestions to help them get started on the path of recovery.
